Although a mobile sales team is rarely in a traditional office, they still need access to company information and communication platforms. The cloud can facilitate sharing of information and can provide up-to-date data about things that are happening back at the office or warehouse. For example, if a member of a mobile sales team is selling a product to retailer, they may need to check the company’s inventory stock before agreeing to the amount they can sell or provide. It may seem like a large investment, but without a technical support team, you may be without a mobile sales team. There are different approaches to technical support and you can hire someone in-house or outsource it to a technology-based support company. This is like an insurance policy for your mobile sales team, to support them and ensure they can keep working without difficulty.

Encourage Communication and Social Interaction

Good communication is an essential part of maintaining good relationships and building rapport with colleagues and managers. Encourage a weekly meeting where members of the mobile team come in and discuss what has been going on out in the field. Not only can this facilitate good communication, but it supports social interaction that many mobile team members may actually miss. Being a part of an office culture definitely has social and communication benefits, that are more difficult to have with remote staff. Inviting them to events and holding regular meetings gives them a chance to experience these opportunities.
