Recently, Amber and Joe from our UK team took a trip to Hogan’s Cider, an independent, award-winning cider maker. They make a variety of ciders and distribute them worldwide. They spent the day with Jane and Alan, the founders, and Carole, the Finance Manager. The team at Hogan’s went live with Unleashed and Xero about two months ago and have quickly reaped the benefits.
Avoid the upgrade woes
Revamping existing systems sounds scary — you don’t have the technical expertise, it costs time and money, and maybe the team isn’t ready for it. Without a helping hand and good change management, there’s a huge potential for a logistical nightmare.
The team at Hogan’s had a smoother switch than anticipated. Unleashed’s UK-based team were there to answer any questions and provide step-by-step directions whenever they needed help. The software’s import feature allows businesses like Hogan’s who have existing data to easily transfer their data to the system.
Traceability is essential for Hogan’s Cider
Hogan’s Cider was using a system that didn’t allow for Bill of Materials or production runs. This made it a challenge to track their assemblies. Breweries need to ensure they have a system that allows them to comprehensively track and trace every item in the event of a product recall.
Since using Unleashed, the team can now track component usage and get an accurate average landed cost of what each bottle, keg and box is costing them.
Easy integration with Xero
Hogan’s Cider also uses Xero, which integrates with Unleashed. Information from Unleashed flows seamlessly to Xero so there are less accounting mistakes and double entries. Their finance team instantly receives bills and invoices and reconciles them quickly, leaving more time for them to focus on other important tasks.
Business at Hogan’s Cider is booming and we can’t wait to revisit them in the future to see how much more they’ve grown with Unleashed — but also to taste more of the cider, the elderflower one was especially delicious!
