You’ve probably heard a lot already about Xerocon Sydney 2014, the largest accounting technology conference of its kind in Australasia. With inspiring speakers, great networking moments, and awesome exhibitors, our team who attended rated it as the best Xerocon yet!
Haley, Unleashed’s Senior Account Manager, filled us in on how Xerocon has grown since its’ inception.
The theme this year at Xerocon was “Great Partnerships”, which really sums up the success of Xero. Just like we couldn’t have got to where we are today without the support of our awesome partners, the same is true for Xero who are continuing to develop their offering for the small business market.
Xerocon has seen rapid growth since its’ inception, from six exhibitors in 2011, to 80 in 2014. This year saw 1300 delegates attending the conference, with the number of global add-on’s available for Xero having grown to 350, of which 89 of these are based in Australia, and a total of $30 million of revenue being generated between them.
The Xero network has grown also, to a team of 161 staff and 6100 advisors, so it’s no wonder there were so many attending this event, and it’s clear there is potential for much more growth within the cloud accounting technology space.
All-in-all, it’s clear that Xero is going places, and we’re excited to have joined them on the journey.
Em, one of Unleashed’s Solutions Architects, shared with us about her first time at Xerocon. She is eagerly awaiting the next one.
I had no idea what I was in for before going to Xerocon but I can tell you it was one of the most incredible conferences of my career. Being around people with similar energy and passion for all things tech and accounting was inspiring, motivating and has reaffirmed exactly why I moved into this industry just eight months ago.
Highlights for me included meeting a wide range of accountants, bookkeepers, integrators, implementers and add-on extraordinaires from all over the globe. Having the opportunity to learn about what they do, and talk about what we do was wonderful, and I really enjoyed forming relationships further than just catching up via emails.
I had two favourite booths this year. The first was Rype – thank you for talking nerdy with me, glad I’m not in desktop support anymore. And the second was Neto – it’s such an impressive and intuitive product, I think I may have gushed like a fangirl a little too much.
We celebrated Rehan’s (one of Unleashed’s Solutions Architects) birthday on Wednesday night, had a delicious dinner on Thursday, and to top it all off we had the Xerocon gala where we dined and danced the night away to outrageously good music!
I’m buzzing now from the excitement of it all and cannot wait until the next event where I get to share my love of Unleashed, network like crazy and laugh my arse off all over again.
So there you go, another successful Xerocon.
There’s really not much more to say, except don’t miss out on the next one – we’ll be there, doing our thing, and we hope to see you there too!
And don’t be a stranger – our team would love to hear from you, and would love to stay in touch after getting to know you better at Xerocon.
Until next year, stay awesome!
