It was smiles all round last night at the Cordis hotel in Auckland as Unleashed Software won the Supreme Business Excellence award – and was named Employer of the Year – at Westpac’s Auckland Business Awards Best of The Best gala dinner.
“This award is recognition for everyone at Unleashed for the amazing work we do to help great product businesses succeed and provide them enduring opportunities to grow,” says CEO Gareth Berry.
The company was the only business to have been nominated in multiple categories – Excellence in Marketing as well as Employer of the Year – but was surprised on the night with the ultimate accolade for overall Supreme Business Excellence.
Joined by representatives from Unleashed’s diverse culture, including members of the development, people and culture, product, and marketing teams, a delighted Gareth Berry took to the podium to accept the award on behalf of the company.
“I can honestly say that in our ten year history, our culture, our teams and the opportunities we are creating have never been so strong,” says Gareth.
“The last few months have proven our ability in building strong and resilient teams that continue to deliver great outcomes for our global customer base – no matter the circumstance. For our team to be named Employer of the Year is the single most important award for us as it aligns with our values perfectly. Though of course we are truly humbled to be recognised with the top award too.”

Danielle Dadello moments after the supreme award was announced.
Unleashed Software recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary. From humble beginnings as a tiny start-up nurtured by Massey University of New Zealand’s ecentre Business Incubator, it has grown into an international business with customers in more than 100 countries. Originally focusing on inventory management, today Unleashed helps companies make, manage and move good products with a suite of smart cloud software tools spanning production, sales, supplier management, fulfilment, B2B eCommerce and Business Intelligence.
“It’s an absolute privilege to come to work each day and build something very special with some of the most talented people I could have ever hoped to be sharing this journey with,” says Gareth.
“Our success is because of our people – and their unwavering perseverance, focus and authenticity.”
