March release Unleashed: Margin and profit security

I was so excited about this new feature that I wanted to write about it myself! Unleashed now has the ability to suppress showing profit and margin percentage on invoices. This particular feature has been on my own personal wish list for around two years, but it was the customer requests for it that raised it up the priority queue.

From the beginning, the belief at Unleashed was that showing margins accurately on the line was the best policy; it gives your trusted staff (your company’s greatest assets) the power to make decisions around pricing when negotiating deals with customers.

Having a good management policy around what is and is not acceptable is usually good enough and this approach empowers staff to sell more whilst controlling margin – which is king!

However, there is of course the other side of the coin where the business is set up beautifully to capture good margins, without the need to negotiate deals, and therefore showing Margins and Profitability on each invoice can become more of a distraction to business owners. The right thing to do is to provide the flexibility to switch those features off.

Now, you have the ability to set those profit and margin features at a role level, and assign your users to the role.  In line with this level of granularity in the security of Unleashed, we have made some UI tweaks to the user role security, too.

Happy selling everyone! I look forward to more feature announcements in the near future as a huge amount of development all comes to fruition.

Best,

Gareth Berry, Unleashed Software CEO
